Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child cannot attend each class within their program?

Depending on the class, if we are offering the same curriculum, your child may be able to join the alternate class. If that is not possible due to capacity limits, you can attend an open studio as a makeup class.

Do you ever cancel class?

Occasionally, classes are canceled due to low registration or instructor illness. In the event of a class cancellation, we will provide you with a make-up date. Registrants will be notified before; however, if your artist can not make the make-up class, please contact us directly at info@scribbleroc.com to discuss the class date, and a class refund will be issued.

I cannot attend an entire session. Do you prorate your semesters?

Each class is part of a comprehensive curriculum that builds upon skills and projects developed from one week to the next. If you register after the semester has commenced, the price will be automatically prorated for only the remaining dates.

Where are you located?

Our address is 725 Pittsford Victor Road, Suite 3, and we are located in a new plaza called The Basin Commons. Our neighboring businesses are still under construction, so between that and the snow it can be tricky to find where you turn into the plaza! The entrance into the Basin Commons is between the new yellow building and the renovated white church. Once you turn into the plaza, you go to the right and all the way down to the blue / grey building. The entrance into the studio is facing the red building.

Are age limits enforced?

No, we are flexible! Our classes and age ranges are based on a developmental standard and curriculum. If you would like to enroll your child for a session that is not a 100% match age-wise due to scheduling or knowing your child's development, that is not a problem. If you have questions about the content for a specific class, please contact us to discuss!

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer sibling discounts. If you have more than one child attending a class, workshop, or camp, each additional child is eligible for a 10% discount. Discounts will automatically apply to your cart at checkout.

What is your cancellation policy?

Classes are non-refundable. However, if your artist can no longer attend or you have a scheduling conflict, please contact us directly to discuss at info@scribbleroc.com. If you need to cancel a class, you must cancel at least one day (24 hours) before the class date to receive a credit. No refunds will be made on the day of the class, after the class has started, or for no-show attendance.

Do you offer class drop-ins?

Yes, if you cannot commit to a full class semester, you can still drop-in to a class that has not reached capacity. We will update the schedule and social channels for up to date capacity details or you can call the studio to check on a specific class.

What if my child has special needs and/or needs certain accommodations?

At scribble roc, we strive to be inclusive for children of all abilities.  Our space is designed and flexible to meet the needs of all children.  If your child needs special accommodations or modifications and you are comfortable sharing them with the scribble roc team, we will do our absolute best to support as needed.

What materials do you use?

Our materials are developmentally appropriate. For our younger artists, we strive to use non-toxic and washable materials designed to safely engage their senses. For school-aged artists, we begin to incorporate more advanced materials, such as permanent markers, acrylic paint and hot glue guns, to enhance the quality of their work. These materials also provide opportunities to teach safety and responsibility in handling artists’ tools.

What should my child wear?

We will provide aprons, but we cannot guarantee that all materials will wash out of clothing, so we recommend dressing them in something that can get dirty. We like to call it our "art uniform!"  We encourage our students to fully immerse themselves in their expression of art, so please plan accordingly.

Do we need to take off our shoes?

To keep our studio clean and comfortable during Rochester’s snowy months, we kindly ask that all visitors leave their snow boots at the door and bring a spare pair of indoor shoes or socks. Please note that while socks are welcome, we are an art studio—paint, water, and other materials may be on the floor. If you'd like to keep your feet dry, we recommend bringing an extra pair of shoes.

Can I bring my infant to class?

Yes! If you have a baby and are attending a class with an older child, you’re welcome to bring your infant along. We just ask that they remain in your arms, a carrier, or stroller to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

How many caregivers can attend class?

For applicable classes (Wee Artist, Mini Artist, and specific Open Studio sessions), we ask that just one caretaker attend. Please notify us if another would like to join.

Do I need to pay for adult participation?

For most children's programs, adults do not need to pay—our pricing is per child, and grown-ups are asked to stay at no extra cost. However, for Friends & Family Night and adult workshops, there is a per-person fee for all participants, including adults.

What is Sawyer?

We use Sawyer as our registration platform, where you can find and sign up for all of our art experiences. When you click into Sawyer, you’ll see different categories at the top, including Drop-ins, Classes, Programs, Parties, and Gift Cards. Programs include all workshops, adult workshops, open studio sessions, Friends & Family Nights, and specialty events.
